Rue, The Hunger Games (movie)

Photo from The New Yorker

WARNING: SPOILERS

Hiding is a solid plan Rue, if only it weren't for your good, kind heart. Rue was adorable, industrious and ultimately ill-fated. Lasting longer than anyone expected, she was a welcome departure from the bloodthirsty and (understandable) ruthlessness of the other tributes.  Katniss' short-lived ally and the youngest tribute in the games, her death spurred on not only Katniss' rebellion, but that of Rue's entire district. She became martyred and a symbol of all that was wrong in their world.
