Kiersey Clemons in the Running to Co-Star in The Flash Movie

DC’s film adaptation of The Flash has already found a new director in Rick Famuyiwa, who directed the acclaimed Dope, and now he may be pulling from the same camp in terms of rounding out the movie’s cast—specifically Kiersey Clemons, who is rumored to be the top pick for The Flash’s female lead role.

Logic and previous DC Comics adaptation track record would suggest that the “female lead” is likely the role of Iris West, intrepid journalist and friend to Barry Allen, a.k.a. the Flash (Ezra Miller).

While initial reports had some wondering if the sudden director swap would delay production, The Flash is still expected to begin filming this year. It is currently slated for a 2018 release.
