AMC has released three first-look character photos from its upcoming drama series Preacher. The photos feature the three series lead characters, Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) and Tulip (Ruth Negga).
The series from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Sony TV and AMC Studios, is based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s cult 1990s comic. It centers on a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer (Cooper), who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Negga) and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy (Gilgun) come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
The series debuts in May on AMC.
This sounds both gritty and good; and you can usually depend on AMC to produce a solid series.
